Mudasar Nawaz, MSc, MBCI, CHPCP, CPP, PSP
Operations Manager and Principal Consultant at Resilient Management Solutions. RMS was founded in 2013 as a consulting firm, specializing in business continuity, emergency management, security management and enterprise risk management.
Mudasar has over 12 years of expertise in these areas. He has a Master of Science (MSc) in Organizational Resilience from Buckinghamshire New University from Wycombe, England.
Mudasar currently works for the City of Toronto (4th largest city in North America and 6th largest government in Canada) as a Emergency Planning Coordinator. He leads the development and maintenance of business continuity and emergency planning strategies for City of Toronto. His planning responsibilities include chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear (CBRN) terrorism, hazardous material events, infectious diseases, and natural and technological threats. He participates in various municipal, provincial, federal and private sector committees to establish best practices, standards & protocols.
He has extensive experience in the development and maintenance of business continuity, disaster recovery, emergency and physical security plans and programs. He has designed numerous types of emergency simulations & exercises (drills, tabletops, functional and full-scale exercises). He has had extensive exposure to emergency operations centres and incident management systems.
In his former role as a City of Toronto, Corporate Security Analyst he was responsible for planning, implementation, integration and maintenance of physical protection systems at city owned and/or operated premises through identifying, assessing, reporting, monitoring and mitigating security risks in alignment with the applicable policies, divisional plans and standards. He is experienced in conducting Physical Security Surveys and Threat & Risk Assessments. He has considerable working knowledge of CCTV, Access Control, Alarm Monitoring & Management, Card Readers, Fire Panels, Environmental Alarms, Biometric, Duress Alarms and additional devices and sensors related to physical security.
